The early morning fog in Knoxville on October 18th brought visibility to a mere 0.15 miles, with humidity reaching a dense 100%, as the National Weather Service reported. The calm winds, a stated barometer reading of 30.42 inches, and a dewpoint aligned with the temperature at 39°F contributed to the still and thick fog that wrapped the city just before dawn.
Later that day, Knoxville residents saw the fog give way to sunny skies, with temperatures expected to climb to a comfortable high near 68°F. According to the forecast, patchy frost was briefly scheduled between 8 am and 9 am. In the evening, the conditions were predicted to remain mostly clear, with temperatures gently descending to a low of around 41°F.
Over the weekend, the weather is set to continue its gracious trend, with the National Weather Service forecasting sunny days and clear nights. Saturday's temperatures are anticipated to reach a high near 72°F and by Sunday, an increase to a high near 74°F was expected, accompanied each night by calm winds and clear skies.
As the new week dawns, the pattern of clear skies and climbing temperatures is forecasted to hold, with Monday projected to bring a high near 76°F and an evening low settling around 46°F. The National Weather Service indicates that this stretch of sunny days and mostly clear nights will persist through to Thursday, offering a respite from the fog and a taste of the autumnal idyll.
