Early morning yesterday, a residential fire erupted in the 3000 block of Linden Avenue in Knoxville, summoning the fire department to a chaotic scene. As reported by WVLT, the Knoxville Fire Department (KFD) arrived at approximately 4:09 a.m. to find smoke billowing from the house and discovered an injured male in the street.

The situation was exacerbated, as detailed by WIVK, when a car obstructed the nearest fire hydrant, forcing firefighters to break the vehicle's windows to establish a water supply. Inside the home, crews contained what was described as a small kitchen fire within 15 minutes of their arrival.

According to updates from WBIR, three occupants, two males and a female, were in the home at the time of the incident. One of the males suffered non-life-threatening injuries while attempting to exit the blaze and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Further complicating the rescue efforts, KFD found the home to be without working smoke alarms, potentially delaying the fire's detection and its inhabitants' escape. The residence incurred extensive damage due to the fire, along with the water and smoke utilized to extinguish it. The KFD's fire investigations unit is actively working to determine the initiating cause of the blaze, a process still ongoing at this time.
