Artists in League City are invited to showcase their talents in the upcoming public gallery at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center. According to League City's official announcement, the exhibition is themed “Small Works by Great Minds” and is set to decorate the civic center from early December until the dawn of spring in late March.
The call for entries is extended to artists of varied mediums, inviting submissions of 11 inches by 14 inches or smaller pieces. This includes sculptural and multimedia works which, as the city specifies, must be fitted properly to hang – and they're not entertaining any saw tooth hangers. Artists looking to participate in this community event should prepare themselves to limit their submissions to two pieces maximum.
All interested artists must deliver their artwork to the designated address at 600 West Walker Street by the cut-off date, November 14. Each piece should carry a label clearly displaying the artist’s name, contact information, the title of the art piece, and an indication of whether the work is up for sale. And for those interested, the city will not display any nude or obscene artwork. The city has the authority to reject any piece that does not meet its criteria, ensuring the visual space remains appropriate for all audiences.
For more details or to ask questions, contact John Orsag at [email protected] or call 281-554-1156. The exhibition will feature a variety of local artwork, all ready to hang on the gallery's walls. The displayed pieces will remain in the civic center until at least March, with no early take-downs allowed.
