Following a violent confrontation in Lee Township that left two men hospitalized, one suspect has been taken into custody while the search for another continues. According to WZZM 13, the incident took place on October 1, when a fight at a residence escalated into a stabbing and a subsequent shooting.

The Allegan County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the arrest of a 43-year-old man, Anthony Steven Vincent, who stands accused of assault with intent to murder. Vincent was apprehended on Monday by the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team, as WOODTV reports. Despite efforts to immediately track down the suspect, law enforcement took nearly two weeks to locate and apprehend Vincent successfully.

A 26-year-old man with multiple stab wounds and a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound were the victims of this crime, with both being transported to South Haven Hospital for treatment. The shooting victim was reportedly hit by a bullet fired from a passenger in the car that was transporting the stabbing victim to medical care, an event described by deputies as occurring outside the vehicle. Both victims are expected to survive their injuries.

The shooter, who turned himself in, yet remains unidentified, is not currently facing charges as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, Vincent now faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted of the assault charge. Sheriff Frank Baker expressed the importance of gathering accounts from all involved, stating, "We want to hear both sides of this story and we want to have a chance to talk to all the witnesses involved and be able to look at the evidence from the scene and have a bigger picture and a better picture of what took place," as per WOODTV.
