The annual Battle of the Badge in Lewisville had the community buzzing with excitement as the local police department (LPD) clashed with the fire department (LFD) on the field. The event, which is much more than a display of athletic prowess, serves as a benefit for community services and charities. This year was particularly special for Lewisville PD as they emerged victorious after a grueling series of games that culminated in a final showdown.
According to the Lewisville Police Department's Facebook page, the team displayed remarkable endurance, playing seven straight back-to-back games to claim the title. The post celebrated the department's triumph, stating, "Great team, great coach, great charity, all for a great cause." This year, the LPD played for the Lewisville Police Foundation, underscoring the event's role in supporting the welfare of those who protect and serve.
In the wake of the competition, the Lewisville Police Department highlighted the camaraderie and competitive spirit shared by all participants: "All of these first responders are phenomenal." Nonetheless, this year's bragging rights belong to the Lewisville Police Department, with the Facebook update inviting the community to cheer on LPD's success: "But this year, Lewisville PD gets to bask in the win for a little bit."
