
Earlier today, a brush fire ignited in Elysian Park, prompting an immediate response from the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire, reported at approximately 11:41 AM at 1800 Academy Dr, covered a half acre of brush, burning at a slow rate of speed. Initially, no structures were threatened by the blaze, leading to a full brush response from firefighters. Firefighting resources, including air operations and ground crews, were quickly directed to the scene as detailed in LAFD's initial incident report.
Despite the potential for escalation, the LAFD was able to contain the fire within a short period. By 12:26 PM, it was announced that the fire was 100% contained. In a statement by LAFD, it was clarified that there were no structures damaged and no injuries reported. Firefighters were slated to remain on-site to conduct mop-up operations, ensuring the fire was completely extinguished and to prevent any possible flare-ups.
