A man has been arrested and charged in Montgomery County after an alleged assault involving a Rabbi on Arcola Avenue this past Monday. According to county police, 47-year-old Junior Michael Reece is accused of attacking the victim with a wooden stake for reasons that remain unclear.
The incident, which occurred around 9:53 a.m., prompted a response from the 4th District officers who found the Rabbi had suffered minor injuries. The police's account of events suggests that Reece, after the altercation, fled the area and was later arrested nearby. The case is currently being investigated as a hate crime, a detail that amplifies its severity.
Reece, who reportedly does not have a fixed address, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation prior to being transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. There, he's been charged with felony assault and related crimes. The motivations behind the assault are still being pieced together by investigators.
