
A man in his 20s was killed in central Las Vegas after an altercation with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the homicide, which took place early Wednesday morning near the Chinatown neighborhood. Officers responded to reports of a fight at an apartment near Arville Street and Desert Inn Road, as per News 3 LV.
Upon arrival at the Namaste Apartment complex, situated in the 3300 block of Arville Street, officers found the victim unconscious with apparent blunt-force trauma injuries. He was transported to UMC and pronounced dead at the hospital, as described by LVMPD Homicide Lieutenant Jason Johansson in a statement obtained by FOX5 Vegas. The exact details of the weapon used have not been confirmed, and there was no immediate indication that a weapon was involved.
The police report indicates that an argument broke out between the victim and the suspect, who was identified only as a black male adult. The dispute escalated into a physical fight, ultimately leading to the victim's demise. KTNV reported that the victim was at his girlfriend's apartment when the violent encounter with her ex ensued, resulting in the fatal incident.
The suspect fled the scene and was last seen driving southbound on Arville Street. Lieutenant Johansson mentioned that there was conflicting information regarding the suspect's description, making the process of identification more challenging. Detectives are actively working to confirm a definitive suspect description and are appealing to the public for any information.
