A man from Marysville has been taken into custody over allegations of making criminal threats and gun law violations. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office apprehended 30-year-old Raymond Gonzales on Friday, following charges that he threatened his estranged wife while she was at work. The incident prompted a lockdown at Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital, where the woman is employed.
According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest occurred at Gonzales's residence. The need to secure quickly the hospital premises arose after the suspect allegedly issued threats on Friday while his estranged wife was to be found working her shift. The safety measure, a form of visitor restriction, was enforced beginning Friday afternoon and lasted until the following morning.
Gonzales is currently in custody at the Yuba County Jail, facing charges for making criminal threats and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The Sheriff's Department has not released additional details about the nature of the threats or how they discovered Gonzales's alleged possession of a firearm.
