Memphis residents should be ready for a wet end to their week as a slew of showers and potentially heavy thunderstorms are expected to roll through the region, according to the National Weather Service. In the forecast posted on their website, the NWS outlines a tumultuous weather pattern that starts with a "20 percent chance of showers" overnight and escalates into a 90% chance of precipitation by Thursday.

Thursday's outlook is particularly dreary—with forecasts predicting "showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm." Some of these storms, and heavy rainfall might be brought to us by them. Meanwhile, the temperatures are expected to hover close to 76 degrees during the day switching to a chilly 58 by night, with changing winds that are set to calm down after midnight.
The rest of the week doesn't allow umbrellas to close for long as a continued chance of precipitation bleeds into the following days. The NWS elaborates on a 70% chance of "showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 2am" for Thursday night, while Friday’s forecast is slightly brighter yet still partly sunny, and residents could see highs near 70 degrees with a northeast wind brushing through at a mild 5 to 10 mph.
Heading into the weekend, the wind remains gentle but the possibility of rain persists, climbing up to a "40 percent chance" by Monday night. Residents looking ahead to the coming days should expect a mix of cloudy skies with intermittent showers—weather that seems to cling to Memphis as a "50 percent chance of showers" also marks the forecast for the following Wednesday, as per the NWS. The game of atmospheric roulette continues with temperatures dancing in the low 80s and upper 60s, with the next substantial rainfall slotted for Tuesday night carrying a 60% likelihood.
