
The Metropolitan Police Department is on the hunt for individuals connected to a recent Southeast shooting, taking to the streets and social media in an effort to drum up leads. The incident, which unfolded on the night of September 28, around 10:58 p.m., left an adult female with injuries from gunfire that, while serious, were not believed to threaten her life; she was subsequently rushed to a local hospital where she received necessary medical attention, according to details provided by the police.
The shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Half Street, Southwest. Officers are canvassing for information that could aid in bringing those responsible to justice.
The department is not just asking for the public’s help, calm and vigilance are urged: Anyone with information is strongly advised to refrain from taking any direct action but instead contact the police at (202) 727-9099, or by texting their anonymous tip line at 50411, with a reward of up to $10,000 that hangs in the balance for tips leading to an arrest and conviction as reported on the MPD's official website.
