The Metropolitan Police Department is reaching out to the community for help in finding a suspect involved in multiple robbery incidents. According to a press release from MPD, an individual is sought in connection with an assault with intent to rob on Tuesday morning, as well as an armed robbery taking place shortly after that on the same day.
At around 10:40 a.m. this past Tuesday, the suspect allegedly approached and assaulted a victim in an attempt to forcibly take their belongings on the 500 block of 1st Street, Southeast. During this second offense, the suspect is reported to have displayed a handgun before taking the victim’s property and fleeing the scene.
Surveillance cameras in the vicinity of both crimes captured images of the suspect.
