
The Metropolitan Police Department is reaching out to the public in Southeast D.C. seeking assistance to locate a suspect involved in a recent burglary. As reported by the Metropolitan Police Department, the burglary occurred on September 12, striking an establishment on the 1200 block of Southern Avenue, where a suspect is said to have forcibly entered and taken property.
It was around 1:26 a.m. when the suspect reportedly broke in and subsequently made off with items from the premises. In the wake of the incident, authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or details of the burglary to responsibly come forward and contact the police. Monetary incentives are being offered in hopes of swiftly encouraging the sharing of information that could lead to an arrest and indictment.
As per MPD's news release, the community is advised not to approach the suspect, but instead to call the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tipsters can send a text message to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. Information provided could be financially rewarding, with the MPD offering a bounty up to the tune of $1,000 for tips that contribute to the resolution of the case.
