Residents of Minnetonka and neighboring communities have an upcoming opportunity to connect with local city services and first responders. According to an announcement on the city's official website, the Fire Department and City Open House are set for October 8, inviting community members to engage with the inner workings of their city's emergency services and city departments. The event, scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Minnetonka City Campus, will offer a range of activities for all ages.
The open house, as listed on the city's event calendar, includes fire truck rides for those meeting the 40-inch height requirement, the chance to enjoy a hot dog and hands-on experiences such as spraying water from a fire hose. In addition to the fun, attendees can take a step towards civic engagement by registering to vote, or delve into sustainability by collecting a native plant seed packet.
For families looking for entertainment, there will be an inflatable slide and treat bags filled with safety goodies. Adults can look into scheduling a reduced-cost energy audit for their homes or charge their electric vehicles during the visit. Amid the bustle, visitors can also pause for a warm moment with a cup of cocoa.
