A tragic incident occurred on the streets of northwest Charlotte this past Saturday, as a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a truck. WBTV reported that the fatal crash took place around 8:11 p.m. on the 7100 block of Tuckaseegee Road, near Larry Drive, where a 38-year-old motorcyclist, Casey Jon Korbely, was pronounced dead at the scene after his Harley Davidson collided with a Nissan truck.
The aftermath of the crash saw the driver and passenger of the truck sustaining injuries and they were taken to a local hospital for treatment, QC News cited from a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) statement, police are currently investigating the details surrounding the crash, including whether factors such as speed or impairment played a role in the incident.
WSOCTV shared further details of the preliminary investigation conducted by CMPD, which reveals that the crash occurred as the driver of the Nissan truck was pulling out of a driveway, attempting a left turn onto Tuckaseegee Road, it collided with Korbely's motorcycle which was traveling in the westbound direction, leading to Korbely being ejected from his bike and suffering fatal injuries.
