
The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect following a shooting in Northeast D.C. The incident, which sent one man to the hospital, unfolded on Friday evening and has since escalated into a larger hunt for the assailant.
Last Friday, at around 6:16 p.m., police were called to the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast, where they found an injured male victim. According to the MPDC, the man had a gunshot wound but was conscious and breathing when officers arrived.
After the initial response, emergency services transported the victim to a local hospital for the treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. The current condition of the man has not been disclosed. In the meantime, the Metropolitan Police Department has issued a public call for assistance in tracking down the person or persons responsible for the shooting.
The department urges anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident to call (202) 727-9099. Individuals can also send a tip via text to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward, which goes up to $10,000, for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case, marking the gravity of violent crime in the capital.
