The search for a Detroit man, Sabah Al-Talaqani, has escalated to a nationwide manhunt following his failure to appear in court over charges of rape, kidnapping, and felonious assault in Ohio. Al-Talaqani, who faced a bench warrant issued on Sept. 23, was on the hook for three counts of rape, one count of kidnapping, and one count of felonious assault, stemming from an incident in July 2023. Despite posting a bond of $500,000, he is also now charged with evidence tampering and failure to appear, FOX 2 Detroit adds. His last known domicile was in Detroit's 6400 block of Plainview Avenue, however, he is noted to have connections across multiple states including Michigan, Washington, Ohio, Florida, and Georgia.
The Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office and the Major Crimes Unit have introduced a $5,000 reward incentive for information that could lead to Al-Talaqani's apprehension, intensifying the pressure to locate the fugitive.
