Adjacent properties were at risk as the flames threatened to spread, but "firefighters were able to keep the fire mostly contained to the original fire building," said Capt. Edwin Holmes in a news release obtained by Audacy. Despite there being no casualties among the public or fire personnel, an adjoining unoccupied townhouse sustained moderate fire and water damage.

The fire, which drew 17 NOFD units to the scene, was declared under control by 10:35 p.m., less than half an hour after NOFD units arrived on the scene the comprehensive response ensured safety and containment, WDSU reports. The investigation into what sparked the conflagration remains ongoing, and no further details regarding the cause have been released at this time.
