
Ohio's job market looks set for an upswing with the recent approval of six new projects that promise to create 415 new positions while maintaining 1,118 existing ones. As Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's office reported yesterday, these ventures are expected to contribute nearly $24 million in new payroll and prompt close to $1.1 billion in investments throughout the state.
In beverage distribution, Marussia Beverages USA, Inc. and Watershed Distillery look to bring 35 full-time jobs to Clinton Township, riding on a new annual payroll of $2.5 million. On the tech front, Microsoft Corporation is poised to create 20 positions alongside a $1 billion investment encompassing substantial building and machinery costs in locations throughout Heath, Hebron, and New Albany. A significant data center sales tax exemption has been secured for the tech giant's ambitious expansion.
Perry Township will also witness expansion with Ohio Gratings, Inc. setting up to offer 60 new jobs and a resulting payroll of $3.96 million. Ashtabula County's Saybrook Township isn't left behind, as Plastpro 2000, Inc. underscores the trend with 145 anticipated positions and over $7.9 million in payroll on the horizon, a clear signal of growth in the manufacturing sector.
Moreover, Fairfield in Butler County is slated for a boost, with Hit Promotional Products, Inc. and Profill Fulfillment, LLC contributing 100 jobs and a $4.8 million payroll. Wulco, Inc., also residing in Butler County, rounds off the list with an expected 55 positions and a $2.78 million payroll—providing a mix of precision machining and packaging services. Each project comes with its own Job Creation Tax Credit for seven to eight years, signaling the state's commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.
