
Oklahoma City is preparing for a festive celebration with the announcement of its Halloween Harvest event and other fall activities, organized by OKC Parks & Recreation. Scheduled for October 31 from 5 to 8 p.m., parents and children are welcome to visit multiple locations throughout the city, where they can enjoy trick-or-treating, games, face painting, arts and crafts, as well as food and surprises. According to a release from OKC's official website, the Southern Oaks Community Center is planning to ramp up the excitement with glow-in-the-dark sports.
Before anyone decides to split hairs over how to spend their Halloween, there are a plethora of other Autumn-centered events to keep residents entertained. Oklahoma City is also hosting "Martin Park After Dark," a hike is scheduled for those interested in exploring the park's nocturnal wildlife, with separate events for families and adults planned for October 18 and 19, respectively. For those interested in creativity, there’s an opportunity to both design and perform in a haunted house at the NW Optimist Community Center, with public hours from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on October 18 and 19. Will Rogers Gardens will also host a "Halloween on the Green" event on October 26, featuring fall-themed activities for children 11 and under. Additionally, the "Phantom of the Park Halloween Softball Tournament" will take place on the same day, offering a day of competition and costumes, as stated in the official announcement.
OKC Parks is offering an adaptive trick-or-treating experience on October 28 to ensure that everyone can participate in the festivities, according to OKC's release. Martin Park Nature Center will also host an "Adaptive Martin Park Nature Hike" on Halloween day, welcoming participants of all mobility levels to join and learn about local wildlife.
