The disappearance of Olmos Park woman Suzanne Clark Simpson continues to grip the community as search efforts intensify and new details emerge regarding her husband’s involvement. Brad Simpson was arrested early Wednesday morning on multiple charges, including assault causing bodily injury-family violence and unlawful restraint. According to KSAT, he now faces a steep $2 million bond for these charges. Simpson was taken into custody along Interstate 10 East in Kendall County and was later moved to Bexar County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
While the Olmos Park Police Department, assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, continues their search, details from Sunday’s incident have come to light. Police relayed that there was a disturbance between the Simpsons after they left The Argyle, a private club, and authorities have since been searching in a wooded area near their home. A neighbor has reported witnessing a physical altercation between the couple on Sunday night and hearing screams from the same wooded area. Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas expressed his concern, stating "We’re very concerned," and emphasized the importance of not searching for Suzanne without police supervision, as stated in KSAT.
Brad Simpson has been described as uncooperative throughout the investigation. Olmos Park Police are now reaching out to the public for any information concerning a 2019 dark-colored GMC Sierra pickup truck associated with Brad Simpson, specifically if it was seen Sunday night following the family violence incident. Tips can be directed to the Olmos Park police through multiple contact numbers provided in the initial reports.
According to FOX San Antonio, police efforts to locate Suzanne Simpson include examining various properties owned by the family, and even investigating Brad's pickup truck, but so far no solid evidence has been found to ascertain Suzanne’s condition. "We'd love for her to be alive," said Chief Villegas in a hopeful tone, "There's nothing concrete that says she's not alive. Again, I owe it to the family. We all owe it to the family to speak of her in a way where other people have been found.. Our expectations are, of course, that we get her back alive." Community response has been significant as the police receive numerous tips and information.
The case ongoing and any developments will be closely followed by the authorities and the wider Olmos Park community.
