A roadway altercation in Glendale escalated to gunfire this morning, leaving one person with life-threatening injuries. The incident took place just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of 67th Avenue and Camelback Road, where the drivers of two pickup trucks came into conflict, as FOX 10 Phoenix reported.
According to ABC15, the altercation began when the driver of a silver pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer, exited his vehicle and approached the driver of a smaller tan pickup truck that had stopped at 67th Avenue; during this confrontation, it is believed by detectives that a weapon was brandished and a shot was fired through the driver's side window of the tan truck, hitting the other driver.
The victim of the shooting was quickly transported to a local hospital, with Glendale Police confirming the serious nature of the injuries sustained. Officials closed down the intersection for a time to conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
