The Pinal County Board of Supervisors has officially filled the vacancy for the Western Pinal Justice of the Peace by appointing Patricia Glover to the position, a seat which has been open since February following the resignation of former Justice Lyle Riggs, with her term set to last until 2028. Glover's early appointment comes on the heels of her uncontested victory in the July Primary Election, essentially cementing her place in the November election as a mere formality.
Glover's inauguration, conducted by Clerk of the Board Natasha Kennedy, wasn't a solitary affair as she stood in the presence of the Board of Supervisors, alongside her spouse Christian and presiding Justice of the Peace Shaun Babeu. The appointment power wielded by the Board of Supervisors highlights their authority to expedite the filling of such vacancies, which in this case allowed Glover to assume her new responsibilities without delay.
The significance of this appointment was noted in a statement released by Pinal County, emphasizing the Board's decision to facilitate a seamless transition and its confidence in Glover's capabilities to uphold the duties of the office.
