
In a violent incident that disturbed a Puyallup neighborhood, deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department responded to a shooting at the intersection of 176th and 93rd Ave E. According to Pierce County Sheriff's Department Blotter official statement, the event occurred around 12:20 a.m. yesterday, where they found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm. The attack reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute that escalated.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies gave immediate first aid to the injured man, applying a tourniquet to stop the bleeding while waiting for paramedics. They learned that the victim had answered the door to a man looking for an ex-girlfriend, only to be met with a gun and a hail of bullets that went through the door and a nearby window. Several shell casings were found in the driveway, and the violent incident, captured on camera, led to an urgent effort across agencies to apprehend the shooter.
The 20-year-old suspect, believed to have fled in his vehicle after the shooting, was captured by Auburn Police at 2:27 a.m. following an attempted getaway near Peasley Canyon and West Valley Highway. Deputies took him into custody and booked him into Pierce County Jail, where he faces serious charges, including Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree and Assault in the 1st Degree.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The coordination between law enforcement agencies demonstrates the system's ability to respond quickly, aiding in the swift capture of those accused of serious crimes against the community.
