It was a regular weekday when a local Raleigh Water staff member noticed a three-year-old boy, barefoot and alone, by the side of the road last Thursday. Geoffrey Fish pulled over to help the child, according to the City of Raleigh.
According to a statement from Raleigh Water, Fish communicated with the child, offering him snacks and warmth. He walked with the boy as a guide, trying to lead him safely back to his family. Neighbors helped find the boy's home by giving him directions, as reported by the City of Raleigh.
Geoffrey Fish, a local Raleigh Water staff member, played a crucial role as both a worker and a guardian. The city expressed gratitude, stating, "A big thanks to Geoffrey for setting a wonderful example of serving the community by going above and beyond the call of duty!" as stated by the City of Raleigh.
