Chaos erupted late Friday night when an explosion led to a serious fire at a home in Del Valle, with emergency services rushing to the scene at 9013 Elroy Rd., according to CBS Austin. The distress call, which came in close to 11 p.m., resulted in a quick response from Travis County Fire Rescue, the Austin Fire Department, and Austin Travis County EMS, who found the structure ablaze upon their arrival.
An individual was inside the residence when the fire was initiated, not known until after the fact the occupant managed to evacuate before the squads got there, fighting flames that had been stopped from spreading beyond their origin point. This effort was documented by the official ATCEMS X account, confirming the containment of the fire to its initial zone and the absence, so far, of any additional victims.
