A Roseville man has been condemned to a life term with the possibility of parole after being found guilty of the murder of his roommate, as the recent verdict unfolded in the county's courthouse. According to the Placer County District Attorney's Office Facebook page, Ryan Bacon, age 28, received 26 years to life during sentencing by the Honorable Judge Jones on August 23, instigating a long stint in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation following a jury's guilty verdict.
In June 2022, the Roseville Police responded to a distress call and found Bacon, who had fled on foot and was carrying part of the murder weapon. The investigation revealed the victim had been stabbed 17 times, allegedly by Bacon. The Placer County District Attorney's Office gathered evidence and witness testimonies, leading to Bacon's conviction in May.
This case gained attention not just for the serious crime but also because of Assistant District Attorney Tyson Page and the Victim Services Unit, which supported the victim's family during the trial. More information about the Felony Division and Victim Services can be found on the county's official website.
