The Sacramento Kings have signed veteran forward Doug McDermott to a one-year contract. At 32 years old and standing 6-foot-6, McDermott is a skilled shooter and will serve as a backup to DeMar DeRozan, enhancing the Kings' wing depth, as reported by the Sacramento Bee and ESPN's Shams Charania.
Before joining the Kings, McDermott played for several NBA teams, including the Bulls, Thunder, and Spurs, during his 10-year career. He is known for his impressive 41% shooting from three-point range, a valuable skill in today’s NBA. The Kings signed McDermott following their trade of forward Jalen McDaniels to the Spurs, as reported by the Sacramento Bee.
McDermott, the 11th overall pick in the 2014 draft from Creighton, has averaged 8.9 points per game with solid shooting percentages of 47.1% from the field and 41% from three-point range. His best season was in 2020-21 with the Indiana Pacers, where he averaged 13.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game as reported by CBS Sacramento.
