
A 57-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a Salisbury parking lot following an assault last Wednesday. Officers responded to the distressing scene around 6:45 p.m., where despite life-saving efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries on-site. The Salisbury Police Department has not yet disclosed the identity of the victim, as reported by WBTV.
The following day, Herman Donald Floyd III, 44, was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal incident; Floyd is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center with no bond option, the development was coupled with details of a search warrant executed at Floyd’s apartment where investigators unearthed items tying him to the crime, this unraveling in the unfolding investigation was shared by WCCB Charlotte.
As of now, the motives behind the assault are yet to be clarified. The Salisbury Police Department is continuing its thorough inquiry into the circumstances that led up to the violent encounter.
