Scottsdale police are on the lookout for a suspect following an incident captured on camera, where political signs were blatantly defaced. AZ Family reports the vandalism occurred on Sept. 29 at around 4:30 a.m., showcasing a person on a bicycle ripping through several signs at the intersection of Hayden Road and Sweetwater Avenue. Noteworthy among the damaged signs were those advocating for the campaigns of Republican U.S. Senate nominee Kari Lake and Arizona House District 4 candidate Matt Gress.

The Scottsdale Police Department has taken the matter to social media, urging the public to assist by providing any information related to the suspect, who was shown crossing the road on their bike before proceeding to damage the signage, causing considerable defacement but the department made it a point on their social media that such acts of vandalism are serious crimes. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 480-312-TIPS, says the Scottsdale Police Department's official release on X.

Amidst the investigation, political reactions have surfaced. A campaign spokesperson for Kari Lake pointed fingers, stating, "Both Ruben Gallego and his Pravda Paper, The Arizona Repugnant, are responsible for a lot of the hate-filled rhetoric that drives people to do this," as mentioned in a statement obtained by AZ Central. The spokesperon further assured that despite the vandalism, Lake's campaign would persist undeterred in its efforts to propagate its message.
