Scottsdale has appointed Will Lofdahl as the new general manager for WestWorld, the city's prominent multi-use event and equestrian center. Announced earlier this month, Lofdahl's extensive background in event and facility management spans over 30 years, bringing seasoned expertise to the internationally recognized venue in Scottsdale. He kicked off his new role on September 23, stepping into a position that oversees the executive leadership and direction of the facility, according to the City of Scottsdale.
Before joining WestWorld, Lofdahl contributed his talents in Canada as the vice president of corporate operations at Regina Exhibition Association Limited, overseeing a property that magnetizes 3.5 million visitors annually. In the past, his leadership was instrumental at the SaskTel Centre, a 15,000-seat sports arena, and the Georgia Dome, which was home of the Atlanta Falcons and a venue for the NCAA men's basketball Final Four tournament during his time there.
"I am proud to have been selected as general manager of WestWorld, a facility that has developed a strong international reputation over the years," Lofdahl told the official Scottsdale website. He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with the WestWorld staff, city administration, partners, and clients to continue the legacy of success for the Scottsdale landmark.
Lofdahl is a well-educated professional with a bachelor's in accounting from Arizona State University and an MBA from Northern Arizona University. He is also a graduate of the Public Assembly Facility Management School through the International Association of Venue Managers and carries a Certified Venue Executive accreditation. With dual citizenship in the United States and Canada, his international perspective is poised to contribute to WestWorld's already strong global presence.
