A man, aged 28, was arrested in North Seattle last Sunday for reportedly menacing three teenage girls with a marine combat knife. Seattle Police, responding to the incident around 10:38 a.m. in the 8500 block of Aurora Avenue North, detained the individual who was found in possession of not only the knife but also other weapons and narcotics.

According to the SPD Blotter, upon interviewing the "extremely frightened" 14-year-old victims, officers developed probable cause to place the man under arrest. Despite the traumatic experience they sustained, charges against the man included Harassment and Possession of Dangerous Weapons.

The items recovered at the scene included a United States Marine Corps KA-BAR knife, a pocketknife, a slungshot, 1.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia. After being apprehended, the suspect was moved to King County Jail but refused initial booking by not cooperating with medical staff, therefore requiring an evaluation at Harborview Medical Center.

Following an assessment, the aforementioned suspect was discharged from the medical center and then booked into King County Jail. However, after a period of just over a day, the individual was released. The Homicide & Assault Unit of the police department now have detectives dedicated to further investigating the case, working to comprehend the sequence of events that led to these three girls' peaceful Sunday morning shattering into a moment of genuine terror.
