Seattle has seen a significant break in an ongoing investigation into a series of violent crimes across King County. Seattle Police Department has arrested four male suspects, aged between 15 and 18, in connection with nearly 80 incidents that spanned robberies, shootings, and carjackings. This group is believed to be behind at least 22 armed robbery cases in the city, targeting businesses such as gas stations and late-night eateries, according to SPD blotter.
The crimes typically involved suspects wearing masks and hoodies, and arriving at locations in stolen vehicles. They would prop doors open, brandish guns at employees, and in many instances destroy computer equipment to try and eliminate surveillance evidence. The SPD’s Robbery Unit, with help from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit, managed to track down suspects to a Federal Way apartment complex, and, following a car chase that ended with tire deflation tactics, the suspects were apprehended. "Two firearms were recovered from the suspects," as reported by SPD blotter.
With the suspects now in custody and more cases coming to light as latent fingerprints get processed, detectives are optimistic about closing additional cases connected to this spree. The police emphasize the importance of the collaborative efforts between various law enforcement agencies in King County in tackling the widespread criminal activities. The Seattle Police Department’s Robbery Unit leads the ongoing investigation, with more updates expected as the cases unravel.
