Yesterday, a traffic incident involving a semi-truck and three passenger vehicles occurred at the intersection of Canyon Rd. E. and Military Rd. E. near Frederickson. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, deputies arrived at the scene around 9:28 a.m. to find the intersection obstructed by the collision.
Initial investigations revealed that the semi-truck caused the incident while traveling southbound on Canyon Rd E, failing to stop at the red light at Military Rd E. It collided with two vehicles at the intersection and then struck another vehicle in the northbound lanes, eventually stopping against a utility pole. As a result, three individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment.
After the incident, local authorities worked to manage traffic congestion and restore order. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department quickly communicated with the community, sending an alert about the significant backups caused by the collision through the PCSD app. They encouraged residents to download the app for future updates.
