
Residents of southeast Austin can breathe easier tonight as firefighters swiftly contained a grass fire that threatened homes on Monday. The quarter-acre blaze, first reported around 1:25 p.m., was rapidly brought under control by joint efforts from the Austin Fire Department (AFD) and Travis County Fire Rescue, according to CBS Austin.

Despite the proximity to the homes on Lipton Loop, the firefighters executed their response without requiring evacuations or reporting any injuries. A photo showing the charred aftermath illustrated just how perilously the fire danced near these homes, yet the skillful containment meant residents remained unscathed.
