
Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a recent armed robbery in Southeast D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department is calling upon the community to assist in locating the individual who carried out the robbery at gunpoint.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred on Thursday when the suspect entered a store on the 1300 block of Marion Barry Avenue, Southeast around 1:34 p.m. The suspect brandished a firearm at an employee and proceeded to take merchandise before fleeing the scene.
To apprehend the suspect, the MPD has released surveillance footage that captures the crime. The public can view the video clip through a link provided in the original police statement so that anyone with information might come forward.
The department is urging anyone with knowledge of the robbery to refrain from taking matters into their own hands but to instead contact the police by calling (202) 727-9099 or sending a text to 50411. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) involved in this or any other violent crime in the District of Columbia.
