As the presidential race enters its final days, Arizona is set to witness, a convergence of political fervor. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are focusing their energies on the Grand Canyon State on Halloween, with crucial rallies aimed at swaying voters in what appears to be a neck-and-neck contest. According to Fox10 Phoenix, Harris will be hosting a rally in Phoenix accompanied by the music of Los Tigres del Norte, and those interested in attending can register for the event here.
Meanwhile, Trump is expected to join forces with Tucker Carlson for a "Tucker Carlson Live Tour" event, doubling as a hurricane relief benefit, taking place in Glendale's Desert Diamond Arena. "Just five days before the election, Tucker Carlson will host a live interview of President Trump in front of the American people," disclosed a Trump campaign email. Contributions towards this cause can be facilitated through ticket purchases, with all profits pledged to relief efforts for those impacted by Hurricanes Milton and Helene.
With the race tightening, the importance of swing states like Arizona is undeniable. According to a 12News report, Ulrich Jensen, an associate professor with the School of Public Affairs at Arizona State University, noted that "the last stretch is critical for both campaigns." Jensen emphasized, "Swing states are going to play a vital role in deciding this election," signaling the strategic nature of these Arizona events which are aimed at winning over voters in states that could tilt the scales in either direction.
Trump and Harris are zeroing in on themes such as the economy and immigration, which are set to dominate their respective campaigns as Election Day looms. Jensen elaborated, saying "I think you’re going to see the campaigns doubling down on the core issues, which for both are top of mind for American people." Both campaigns are staging a full-court press not just with the candidates themselves but with family members too, as Lara Trump and Gwen Walz will be spearheading events of their own in the heart of the Valley this week—Walz in support of Harris and Lara Trump for her father-in-law's platform—according to both 12News and Fox10 Phoenix.
