St. Johns County has bid a warm farewell to longtime employee Abraham 'Abe' Nelson after his commendable 25-year tenure with the Public Works Department. During a meeting of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners on October 2, Nelson was honored for his dedicated service, marking the retirement of a valued team member.

In this role, he inspects signs and road striping on county-maintained roads, ensuring that drivers can travel safely and easily. According to the St. Johns County’s website, Nelson is known for his "friendly demeanor, strong work ethic, and commitment to serving the residents of St. Johns County."
On the occasion of his retirement, the county, through their public announcement, extends "heartfelt congratulations to Abe as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement, wishing him health and happiness in the years ahead." Those familiar with Nelson’s contributions to St. Johns County share this sentiment, respecting his dedication and hard work throughout his career.
