
In a concerning incident at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, a student was stabbed on Wednesday afternoon. The San Marcos Sheriff's Office reported that the call came in just before 3:30 p.m., with the victim claiming to have been attacked on the school premises at 1 Mission Hills Court.
Before the officers arrived at the high school, a Sheriff's School Resource Deputy, who was quickly on the scene, found the victim. Despite being seriously injured, the student was treated at the nurse's office while awaiting emergency medical services and is expected to survive the ordeal. The Sheriff's Office has yet to release details on the victim or the suspected assailant, adhering to policies that protect the identities of minors.
The swift response of law enforcement and school staff allowed for the immediate arrest of a suspect. This individual, also a student of Mission Hills High School, was taken into custody at his home a short time after the incident. At approximately 3:40 p.m., the school was temporarily locked down as a cautionary measure, but it was soon lifted once the suspect was apprehended.
Sheriff's officials extended their gratitude to Mission Hills High School and the San Marcos Unified School District for their cooperation.
