The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported a recent arrest tied to a robbery at a grocery store in the Northwest quadrant of the city. On the night of October 16, authorities were alerted to an incident which escalated from harassment and assault to theft, with the assailant forcibly taking a cash register from the premises.
As per the official MPD release, the ordeal occurred on 1st Street, and witnesses described a suspect who initially harassed the victim, stepped outside for a brief moment, before returning to commit the robbery. Following the incident, officers canvassed the area and succeeded in locating the suspect, leading to an arrest.
Consequently, Damion Bakri Horne, a 34-year-old resident of Northwest, has been charged with robbery in connection to the incident. The swift response and subsequent investigation by detectives led to the apprehension and charge of Horne, bringing a resolution to the unsettling event that disrupted the community that Wednesday evening.
