
A late-night collision yesterday left a pedestrian in critical condition and resulted in the arrest of a suspected drunk driver near the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Twain Avenue in Las Vegas. According to authorities, the crash happened just after 9:30 p.m., when a 2007 Honda Accord traveling southbound collided with a pedestrian who was crossing westward, outside of a marked crosswalk, as reported by News 3 LV.
The 60-year-old driver of the Honda Accord was found at the scene and showed signs of impairment; she was subsequently arrested on DUI charges. The pedestrian, identified as a 68-year-old individual, reportedly also manifested signs of impairment and was transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries, as noted by FOX5 Vegas.
Although the Honda driver attempted to apply the brakes and swerve, the impact was unavoidable, as per the initial investigation findings shared by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
