Two deputies from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office have been commended for their lifesaving actions during a recent vehicular emergency. The deputies, identified as Reyes and Drummond, came upon a harrowing scene where a Ford F-150 had crashed into a culvert and subsequently rolled into a ditch before catching fire.

The social media post from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office detailed the incident which occurred on September 30. Despite the growing blaze, Deputy Reyes attempted to douse the flames and broke the vehicle's glass to reach the trapped driver. Their efforts were hampered when they discovered the driver's foot was ensnared by the vehicle’s pedals.

In a collaborative effort, Deputy Drummond sprang into action and sliced through the seatbelt, a move that enabled Deputy Reyes to crawl into the vehicle and release the driver's burning foot. Together, the officers extricated the victim from the inferno and carried them to a safer location, where emergency medical personnel could provide treatment. The driver, who was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, was rushed to Mansfield Methodist for medical intervention.

The sheriff's office's public acknowledgment of the deputies' actions underscores the peril and unpredictability that law enforcement officials often face. "We want to recognize and thank Deputies Reyes and Drummond for their swift, selfless, and heroic actions that undoubtedly saved the driver's life," the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office expressed.
