The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has activated a Silver Alert for 55-year-old Autumn Hackney. Originally from Sevier County, she was last observed in the Dandridge area, near Villa Ct. on Monday. The TBI and local authorities are increasingly concerned because Hackney has a medical condition that impairs her capacity to return safely without assistance. Citizens are urged to be on the lookout for a white 2021 Toyota 4Runner with the Tennessee license plate 70NPD1, as reported by WVLT.
Details about what Autumn Hackney was wearing at the time of her disappearance have not been released. According to WATE, the Sevier County Sheriff's Office stated that Hackney was heading to the doctor and vanished around 1 p.m. She has not been seen or heard from since. Taken with the knowledge that nearly five people go missing per 100,000 annually in Tennessee, her sudden disappearance casts a fraught pall of concern for her wellness and safe return.
The WBIR contribution to the growing concern highlighted that the Sevier County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) has reported that Hackney suffers from "undiagnosed altered mental status." In discussing the condition that is plaguing Hackney, it has been mentioned that memory loss to the point of not knowing her own identity or location has previously resulted in two hospital visits.
Amidst the persistent search efforts, the community has been called upon to rally in vigilance. "TBI encourages anyone with information to call the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office at 865-774-3943 or TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND," reported WVLT. The situation, exacerbated by her medical challenges, renders the need for public assistance pressing. The TBI believes it is plausible that Hackney is traveling in the aforementioned Toyota 4Runner, potentially increasing her radius of displacement and further complicating her prompt recovery.
