According to witness accounts obtained by The Philadelphia Inquirer, a vehicle had been seen circling the block multiple times before unleashing a barrage of bullets toward the corner where the partygoers were congregating. Moments later, the same vehicle reportedly pulled up outside a house on Jessup Street and opened fire again, hitting individuals who had emerged from the festivity. “I didn’t know what was wrong with her, and then she collapsed,” a witness described the scene after a girl stumbled into a house, having been shot.
Among the victims is a 16-year-old girl who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, placing her in critical condition at Temple University Hospital. Other victims, all of whom are in stable condition, include a wide age range – from a 20-year-old man to a 30-year-old woman – demonstrating the indiscriminate nature of the shooting.
