
A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery that occurred this past summer in Northeast Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department reported that the teenager was apprehended following the issuance of a custody order by the DC Superior Court. The incident originally took place in the early hours of June 30, when the suspect allegedly accosted a pedestrian and demanded his belongings under threat.
The suspect was described as approaching the victim from behind near the corner of 14th and Newton Streets, Northeast, according to a statement from the MPD. It was at approximately 12:24 a.m. when the individual, whose identity has been withheld due to his juvenile status, allegedly put the victim in fear and directed that he surrender his property. After the victim complied, fleeing the scene was the suspect.
