Donald Trump Jr., son of former President Donald Trump, is campaigning in Arizona ahead of the 2024 presidential election. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, he attended a rally in Phoenix to engage the Assyrian community and early voters in support of his father's campaign to recapture the presidency.
His visit coincided with former President Bill Clinton's campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris in Arizona. As early voting is underway, both political figures are actively campaigning. The day before, the Trump campaign announced a rally featuring the former president at Mullett Arena in Tempe, increasing the political activity in this battleground state.
According to a statement obtained by AZ Central, Trump Jr. is slated to speak at "Team Trump on Tour" in Queen Creek, at the Pecan Lake Entertainment today at 6 p.m. This engagement follows on the heels of Trump Jr's recent participation in a "superchase" event with Turning Point Action, signaling a strategy shift as the Trump campaign now encourages early voting, a departure from its 2020 stance.
Both campaigns have sent key figures to Arizona for increased support. Trump's running mate, JD Vance, visited Peoria and Tucson the day before, while Bill Clinton campaigned for Harris in the same area as Trump Jr.’s event. The presidential race is close, with most public polls showing a narrow lead for Trump, compared to the 2020 election when he lost the state by a small margin.
