According to a statement by Phoenix Police, no officers were injured during the incident, as detailed by ABC15.

The 28-year-old male suspect was shot by police and also sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound; he was transported to a hospital where he was declared deceased. AZ Central elaborates on the sequence of events, indicating that the initial shooting victim, a 45-year-old man found with at least one gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the initial scene, raising questions regarding the connection between him and the 28-year-old subject of the police shooting.

While the investigation into the shootings is still active and unfolding, the authorities have not identified any additional suspects related to these incidents; the Phoenix police department is working to ascertain whether the deceased 28-year-old man was responsible for the original shooting that left the 45-year-old man dead, "Police got reports of a shooting near 49th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix just after 8 a.m." and a description of a man entering a gray vehicle initiated the sequence leading to the officer-involved shooting, Sgt.
