Last Tuesday, a vehicle collided with a pedestrian around 9:01 A.M. on the 900 block of Sereno Drive. The Vallejo Police Department is now conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident that led to a fatal outcome for the pedestrian involved.
The incident involved a 2023 Nissan Kicks whose driver was traveling southbound before the collision occurred. While the driver did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene to actively cooperate with the authorities, the pedestrian, an adult woman, suffered from critical injuries. She was swiftly transported to a local hospital to receive emergency medical treatment. In a cruel twist of fate, despite efforts to save her life, the woman ultimately succumbed to her injuries last Saturday, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of her next of kin. The coroner's office of Solano County has taken charge of this delicate matter. This incident tragically marks the eighth traffic-related fatality within Vallejo city limits in the year 2024 alone. As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities have noted that alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor in this fatal accident.
