Knoxville residents can expect to enjoy a series of sunny days and clear nights this week. The weather forecast promises fair conditions with moderate daily highs and cooler nights ahead. On Columbus Day, locals experienced sunshine with temperatures peaking near 66 degrees and light west winds moving at a calm 5 to 10 mph, according to the latest reports from the National Weather Service (NWS).
The clear skies are set to continue into the evening, though tonight's temperatures will drop to a low of around 43 degrees, with the northwest wind slowing to a calm pace by evening. Tuesday will mark a subtle shift as clouds begin to steadily increase, bringing a high near 60 degrees and southwest winds at a gentle breeze. The calm may be interrupted tonight, as temperatures are expected to drop to around 37 degrees with a north wind at 5 mph.
In an update released earlier this morning, the NWS detailed a slight chill midweek, with patchy frost predicted before 9 a.m. on Wednesday. However, the day will unfold with abundant sunshine and a high nearing 58, although tempered by a north wind traveling at 5 to 10 mph. Mostly clear skies and continuing low temperatures will characterize Wednesday night, as temperatures are expected to lower into the mid-30s, as obtained from the NWS's report.
Thursday's forecast is a near mirror of the previous day, with early frost giving way to clear sunny skies and a high of 62 degrees. The pattern of cold nights is to persist, with another clear night and a low of around 37 degrees forecasted. Friday will also greet early risers with areas of frost between 7 and 8 a.m., before yielding to sunshine and a high near 67. Residents planning weekend activities can look forward to an uninterrupted stretch of sunlit days, with the high gradually climbing to reach 71 on Saturday and a pleasant 73 by Sunday.
