For the residents of Knoxville, the dense fog that enveloped the area early this morning is expected to give way to sunnier skies as the day progresses. The National Weather Service forecasts that today will be mostly cloudy initially, but then gradually becoming sunny with highs touching near 80 degrees. Knoxville and its surrounding areas should brace for a breezy day, as the southwest wind is set to range between 5 to 15 mph, with, gusts potentially reaching as high as 20 mph.
As for tonight's Knoxville weather, there's a slight chance of showers with a 20 percent probability of precipitation after 2 a.m. The evening forecast promises mostly cloudy conditions with temperatures dipping to around 63 degrees. The southwest winds are expected to maintain a gentle movement at around 5 mph.
Looking ahead into the weekend, the forecast promises a blend of clouds and sun with no severe weather anticipated. Friday offers a mix of conditions with a 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m., while the rest of the weekend leans towards partly sunny days and mostly cloudy nights. Temperatures are predicted to hover between high 70s in the daytime and low 60s after sunset, offering a mild respite before the onset of cooler autumnal weather.
The National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook doesn't signal any concerning developments beyond today's wind advisory. It confirms that "No hazardous weather is expected at this time" from Friday through Wednesday.
